Department of Health Commissioner Refuses to Acknowledge His Violation of the Open Meetings Law. As BMP Stringer noted in his letter to DOH Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley, the DOH had ample notice that a small conference room could not accommodate the number of people planning to attend the June 21st meeting. Dr. Farley has a duty to follow New York State’s Open Meeting Law. Shame on him and his fellow ACC Board members. We note that even though BMP Stringer addressed his letter to Farley (who is also the ACC Chairman), it was Julie Bank who responded. The DOH has absolute control and responsibility for everything that happens at the ACC, including locking out 100 members of the public from an ACC Board meeting. Note to Board: you're gonna need a much, much larger room for future ACC meetings.
